No More Tornados Please!

We had another tornado fly through West Point today.
As is the case, of course it would be during 6th period when I have 31 high school students to watch over.
So we all went into the hall, where the Art and PE classes joined us.
The PE kids fresh from the basketball court did not add a pleasing smell to the already stuffy air. That is all I will say.

New Year, New Do?

It's a little shameful to admit, but I'm kind of a little bit inspired by Katie Holmes Lovin' Cruise's new chic hairdo. But I have scandalously long hair that I'm afraid to part with, so I'm not ready to actually cut it all off yet. Then I found this new Internet Hair Makeover by Instyle Magazine. Such Fun! You can put any celebrity's hairstyle on your face to see how it would look on you.

It's really fun to do and the next time I get bored I'm going to try hairstyles on Caleb. I'll be sure to post those. P.S.- that's the lovely Krystal Jenkins next to me.

New Year's Eve in Memphis plus Caleb's Heavenly Ham

Boo Boo and Luke let us stay all the way from the Liberty Bowl to New Year's Day with them in their cute house in Collierville. They were the perfect Hosts and we had a great time!
We also LOVED Bandit.
The Group was Caleb and I, Luke and Boo Boo, Travis, Laurette, and Amanda (sister de Laurette). We ate at Blu Fin, a fancy sushi place- we felt very posh.
Back at the Cantrell's House, Boo had her new Drink Fountain up and running. This fountain not to be confused with her chocolate fountain, which she also has. She is a connoisseur of party fountains.
And a couple more pics to finish us up.
We had a great time. Thanks to the Boussons for the fireworks and Jake for the "Crazy Eyes." Jake is always a treat.

Ok, moving on to the next story.... Caleb's Heavenly Ham.
Everywhere we went for Christmas, a huge ham was involved. My better judgment assumed that one might be tired of Holiday Ham after the Holidays. I was wrong. Caleb bought a huge ham at the grocery store (it was on clearance..... I wonder why). I refused to have anything to do with the huge ham, so he glazed it and cooked it all by himself. To my surprise, this Ham is the best ham I've ever tasted. He may have glazed it with Crack Cocaine... I don't know.... but it is so good!

We put our electric knife to the test. We got it as a wedding present but hadn't used it until The Ham. It's pretty handy.

Liberty Bowl and New Year's Eve

Ahhhhh..... the Liberty Bowl.....
I have never been so cold in my life. And this includes New York City with my Mom at 5 am outside the Today Show, waving furiously at Katie Couric.

I must say the game was pretty uneventful for the most part. Blake McAdams punted most of the time. That's the only reason I know his name.... he was on the field punting on the fourth down 90% of the time. But we have to support our Bulldogs, so I was there, clapping away with gusto for 4 quarters.
Please notice the agitated black woman behind our heads. She cursed like a sailor the entire game, but the things she would say were actually really funny. None can be repeated on the blog, of course.
Some may disagree, but the highlight of the even for me was the Half-Time Show. It consisted of Taylor Hicks, some girl in a bright red formal and a handful of little kids dancing onstage. Around the stage were random girls in white that seemed to serve no purpose except that they got to where pretty white dresses in 20 degree winter weather. Whatever. I was happily chanting, "Soul Patrol" (no one else was) but then Taylor's microphone went dead halfway through a song. He awkwardly danced with the young kids onstage for about two minutes. It was awkward.

Alas, the score. Who cares. We won.

And Bulldogs rushing the field. Aren't we supposed to tear down field goals when we win?

Mom's Side of the Family Christmas Get-Together

Mom and my cousin Ashley sent me some Christmas pictures since I forgot to bring my camera (well.... Caleb's camera.... I'm saving up for a Nikon D40, SLR but that's another time for another post).

Starting things off is my cousin Amber with her newborn baby Wesley. He's a cutie with those big brown eyes.
Some of the family hanging out. The little boy on the right is Amber's oldest son, Reece. I can't believe my cousins have kids! I remember making tents with Amber and Ashley and learning cheers in the backyard. Geez.

This is Princess Caroline. When Caleb and I got married over a year and a half ago, Caroline was but a wee little gal (about 2 years old). She was in "awe" of me in my wedding dress and thought I was a bona fide Princess. To this day, she calls me Princess Tricia and I LOVE IT. I hope she never grows out of it.
