Med School has a big Halloween Party every year, and from what we had heard, everyone pretty much goes all out. Not to be out done, Caleb and I went as "Casey McIntosh's Facebook Profile." Check out his profile pic and you'll see just how good we did!

Mr. and Mrs. Harris!!!!!!

One of my best friends got married this past weekend and what a blast it 'twas. And attention to all single gals out there: Fairhope, AL is THE PLACE to tie the knot, no joke. That is the most scenic little town I have ever seen, and a waterfront reception does not hurt.

We started the wedding day with a Bridal Pajama Party Breakfast. It was delish. Such a nice change from my daily bran flakes. If only I could eat croissants with buttery eggs, cheese, and ham every morning!

It was so wonderful seeing Lindsey and Adam get hitched, catching up with old friends AND seeing Amanda's growing belly (mine is growing from buttery breakfast croissants, hers from a mini-Cantrell).
We are ridiculous as always, but we always have so much fun with each other! Seriously, sometimes I wonder how life goes on after leaving the KD House, but somehow, I have managed.
So here is a quick "Glamour Shot" (HA!) of me and Caleb in front of the Bay.
Lindsey timed the ceremony just right so that the sun would be setting on the Bay during the Reception... awesome.

I saw this video over the summer and still love to watch it from time to time. When the first bit came on, I was like, "great.... cheesy church drama" but then by the time it was over I was boo-hooing. It is very powerful. Check it out.

Church Planting (Heavenly) and Bread Pudding (Sinful)

I love PowerPlant!

Got back yesterday from Coordinators Retreat. It's still weird to think I'm a Coordinator- geez.

Not to sound like a 9th grade girl, but Church Planters are so cool. That's probably a word they don't care for, but when I was little in Vacation Bible School, I remember a female missionary talking to us about her time in Africa, and frankly it sounded aweful. For a very long time, I associated being a missionary with her and thought you had to wear a burqa and eat crickets.

But back to church planting in the U.S., just getting to sit around some of these guys and hear their heart for the lost is amazing. And if it took wearing a burqa and eating crickets, they would do it, but they are so creative, passionate and courageous about following the Lord and pointing people towards Christ.

So a little more about PowerPlant St. Louis which I'll be working on this year. Here's my wonderful Ministry Coordinator: Noah Oldham.......

Noah and his wife Heather just moved to St. Louis to church plant. They're working with the Acts 29 Network which is starting churches all over the metro St. Louis area. So this summer at our project, the youth will be working with the different church planters. Noah will be working with these planters to plan different types of servant evangelism projects for the youth to do while at PowerPlant. He's great- his story is also amazing.

Please pray for our St. Louis project! The 58% in the sign stands for the number of unchurched in the county we'll be working in. 58% is huge. We don't just want people in church, but people to meet Christ and experience his love, mercy and grace. PowerPlant is an excellent vehicle for this movement.

In an unrelated story, we had dessert night with our friends the Penningtons last night. A while back, Caleb found a recipe online for (drumroll) "Triple Chocolate Bread Pudding with White Chocolate Sauce" Well we made it last night with our friends and it was every bit as good as it sounds.

Then I looked at the Nutritional Facts.

Obviously, big mistake. 44 grams of fat per serving. PER SERVING. Pretty sure I had like THREE servings. How do you begin to work that off? I think I developed diabetes immediately AND an additional cavity or two, or thirty.

Anyway, it was good, and in the end, who cares. There are bigger things going on in this world. Such as (by the way) did anyone else see the CNN story update on the Astronaut Love Triangle where the lady drove from TX to FL to kidnap her lover's new lover and she wore diapers so she wouldn't have to waste time to go to the bathroom? Well CNN showed the "soiled diapers" on the air. I saw a grown woman's poopy pants. I hate that more than 44 grams of fat. Ok, have a great day today.

A few thoughts on this lovely Friday afternoon

Well I am wrapping up my third full week of working at my new job and I have to say that after 3 pm on a Friday, it is hard to sit at a desk! I got spoiled on the teacher schedule:) Although, it sure is nice not having to leave the house at 6:20 am to pick up my carpool friend and get to work at 7 in the morning!

Here are a few tidbits to update everyone on the comings and goings of the Butts:

1. I fly to Hotlanta this Sunday for the PowerPlant Coordinators retreat. I will be missing two days of work (sad..... syke!) and will get to spend time with people I have admired for the past 5 years of my life. I am still so honored to have the role of Project Coordinator- I know I am just going to wet myself when I see my old PowerPlant friends! Please start praying now and continuously for the project I'm assigned to: St. Louis, MO which will be July 18-24, 2009.

2. I worked my first full day at David's Bridal last week and I don't think I ever blogged about it. I don't want to sound like a whiney-baby, but that is some hard work! I was there from 9am-9pm and didn't sit down once. And let me tell you- carting around wedding dresses for 12 hours is not for the weak! Those gowns can be heavy! Seriously, Sunday morning, I COULD NOT move my upper body. But it really is fun helping cute little brides pick out their dream dress!

3. At Caleb's flag football game the other night, one of the guys got his elbow and part of his jaw broken. It was a very dramatic event. We called Newman's Ambulance Service and they came on the field along with a patrol car AND a fire truck. Fortunately, the entire team is made up of student doctors who quickly diagnosed everything:) But poor Brian is having to have plastic surgery on his face. I can't imagine how hard that must be to try to keep up in Med School and have to go through surgeries.... plus having a broken elbow!

4. ITT is having a HS Senior Open House Day tomorrow (Saturday) and I was asked to help plan it! I even wrote up a press release in honor of my old broadcasting days.... haven't heard from the media yet, haha, but we'll see! Hopefully the event will be a success.

5. My dear friend Lindsey gets married next Saturday. I AM PUMPED! Not only do I get to see her marry a wonderful guy, but I also get a mini-reunion with some of my closest friends. I am ticking off the minutes until I get to see them!

6. Caleb is doing good in Med School. He no longer has Grace the Cadaver. They got all new ones and now he has Estelle. Estelle is a much better cadaver name in my opinion (no offense to anyone with relatives named Estelle).

7. In the Baking Goods aisle of the grocery store there is a lemon square box mix you can buy for like $2. BUY IT. It's worth it. Nothing compares to Nana's lemon squares that she makes for me every time I visit, but I'm not going to lie.... this box mix is pretty close. If you like lemon squares, this is for you.

I can't think of anything else to write about. I'm just sitting at my little desk, with nothing much to do until I get fully in to the system computer-wise which I don't have any control over. Until then, I am reading and googling everything I can find on the Internet, so please, for me, if you have a blog- update it at least twice a day to give me some fresh reading material! I thank you in advance.

Just for the record, there are other guys in the Finer Things Club, not just Caleb. Our first meeting was delightful. We had a picnic outside, sipped tea out of china, ate scones, strawberry tarts and fruit, and discussed upcoming Finer Things events. Some neighborhood kids started playing football near us, so we lost Caleb for awhile, but overall it was a success. I will keep you posted on future meetings and encourage everyone to have a Finer day.

Tiaras, Rabies and That's What She Said

Ok, so I wanted to proudly announce that I made my first sale at David's Bridal this past Wednesday night! It was a tiara. I only came in for two hours of training, but this man came in and asked me for help even though I have no idea what's going on yet. Anyway, he wanted to buy his girlfriend a tiara for her birthday so that she could, "feel like a princess."

If Caleb had done this while we were dating I would have gagged in his face, but I'm going to have to get past that mentality to be successful in my weekend job endeavors. So anyway, I helped him find the perfect Princess Tiara, and Sam walked out beaming that he was the best boyfriend ever. Meanwhile, I think I made like 72 cents off the commission, so I'm pretty excited. Haha.

Meanwhile, I also wanted to inform everyone that despite laughs over Michael Scott's Rabies Awareness Pro-Am Fun Run Race for the Cure, there actually is a 5K Rabies Race for the Cure in Starkville coming up in November. Held at the Vet School, racers are encouraged to bring their pets. I can't figure out how to post the invitation on here, so sorry you can't see it, but it's a cute little flyer and it's definitely promoting a Rabies Race for the Cure.

And finally, in continuing with The Office theme, check out this link. It is about an archeology professor whose class is going down the pooper because many of their vocabulary terms have students yelling out, "That's what she said!"

Med School is Fun....

..... when you're not the one having to study:)

Med School has a Halloween party, Christmas party, PROM, basically it is a ton of fun for me. Maybe not so much for Caleb, but I am loving Medical School.

Take last night, for instance, they had just finished up what is rumored to be the toughest test block, so everyone hung out at a fun place- there was even a DJ- on (gasp) a school night. We never ever went out during the week when we weren't in Med School, but now? Office Parties, throwing hot dogs at people, intramural football.... it's like being in college all over again, I just don't have to study!

You may have heard this song in church before, "In Christ Alone" and I think Heather once posted these same lyrics, but I heard it on the radio just now and these words just do something to me every time I hear them. The entire song is amazing, but here is the part I like so much:
