Watch out all ye sick in Saraland!

Caleb started his first rotation today! This is his "First Day of Rotations Picture" hahhahaha. This rotation is for a 6-week family medicine rotation and he's working with a doctor who has a private practice in Saraland which is really close to Mobile. He is seeing patients! Very exciting!

While Caleb is ridding Saraland of sore throats, I am watching hours of television and am basically happy as a clam. There is a three hour window where there is nothing I like on TV so I'll be surfing the net for that chunk of time. We could solve this three hour black hole of television once and for all by upgrading from basic cable, then I would have HGTV and TLC, but I really am fine for now:)

White Coat Ceremony

Hip Hip for Caleb! His White Coat Ceremony was this past Saturday and our friends and family joined in to celebrate this milestone. This ceremony commemorates the end of the 2 years of studying (good riddance!) and the beginning of rotations and seeing patients! He has two years of rotations then it will be Graduation and on to Residency! Whooooooppppppeeeeeee!!!!!!

So Saturday morning, the Fruit Elves as I have named them helped make fruit skewers for the family lunch we had....

They were delicious! Thanks Fruit Elves!:)

Here you can see Caleb receiving his white coat. He looks so debonair in his MSU bowtie...Our friends the Rudds even came! We are so thankful for their friendship. They had to leave early so we snuck them down for a quick pic. Katie-Ruth appears embarrassed to be in this photo. I also chopped off Mark's head. Sorry Mark. We're glad you were there though.

Thanks Families for all the encouragement and support! Although I've LOVED Med School (prom, new friends, etc.), it's been a bit tougher for Caleb (exams, the Boards, etc.) and we appreciate all the love ya'll have shown to us!

Katelyn's Wedding!

The only downside to taking pictures for other people is that I've totally quit taking pictures of our life, haha. Caleb and I drove from the PowerPlant project in St. Louis to Starkville, picked up PJ Joey, took her home to Mobile, then kept driving on to Destin for Katelyn and Jamie's wedding.

I have to say that Katelyn looked HOT! And not just from the beach sun, hahaha snarkle snarkle, seriously she looked AMAZING. Also, I had never seen Jamie without a beard and he looked super snazzy too! Anyway, I'm sad I don't have any pictures of the wedding other than that one up top to show because the wedding was so absolutely beautiful. I just really like Katelyn and Jamie together. They are so sweet!

Ok one quick story but it will be boring without pictures, but here we go. Caleb and I have always credited a portion of our "being together" with a crazy situation that happened at a KD Formal many moons ago in college. He was my date (we were just friends) and I was Standards (police/mom) of the party. Anyway, we had to take a girl and her date home from the party in Columbus and while we were putting the girl to bed in her dorm room, we left the boy in my car. When we got back to the car, the boy was gone. We had lost Kirby. Anyway, we drove all over campus hollering "KIRBY!" trying to find him, but we had lost him forever. Many a night, years later, we have talked about Kirby and pondered where he is.

Well, we found him at the wedding! He was a groomsman! It is so fun to have "found Kirby." Kirby also enjoyed the story and he and Caleb did this weird high five thing for the rest of the night.

PowerPlant Staff and Ministry Action Shots

This pic is one of some participants putting door hangers on people's houses for the new church called Broadcast that will launch this fall. We're just trying to get the word out, since most people in the area don't know about it yet.

PowerPlant St. Louis!

So the project is upon us! I am so glad Caleb was able to come with me this year because it's been fun having him around and he's been a lot of help too. Here are just a few pictures from the first two days of the project. We are having a lot of fun with the church group, church planters and the awesome summer staff!
So I had to include these pics because they exhibit a really dumb "wake-up" activity that I CREATED and I am super excited and surprised to still see it being used! Every morning, the summer staffer (Becca is in the middle) yells "Good Morning!" and all the girls in a deep voice yell out "POWER!" and show off their guns, then the guys in a shrilly, ballerina like voice, say "PLANT!"

I feel like this Good Morning PowerPlant bit is my legacy.... It will remain long after I'm gone.... Bah Ha!

So anyway, there are lots more pics to come, but we're having a great time! We're working with 7 church plants in the St. Louis area.

Caleb's birthday is this Saturday! Hip Hip!

Right now, he is probably not feeling too festive, as he is taking The Boards.The other night, studying must have gotten intense, because this is how he was studying:War is ON!

This past year has not been the most fun of his life (thanks a lot, Neuro and Pharm), but he handles everything with so much dedication and grace! I'm very proud of him! Goodbye blasted 2nd year! Hello Rotations!

Happy Birthday!

Yum Yum!

I made guacamole! This really isn't a huge feat, but it was fun because I was really bored and thought, "I would like some guacamole" and I had all day to go to the store and make it homeade. It was basically all I did last Friday. Jealous?
Ok, I also made this. It is Southwestern Pasta, and it is the first step in my new addiction to colorful and herb-infused pasta. Yes, I am rapidly turning into a PASTA SNOB. So here's the deal, at the Farmer's Market in Mobile, there is the usual assortment of vegetable stands, and then you discover the PASTA stand. It is life changing! There are about 30 varieties of homeade dry pastas for sale, and they are all really cool, like "lemon basil fettucine." The picture doesn't do my southwestern blend justice. What I also really like, is that when you buy your pasta, they put a recipe in the bag too. The only downside to being a Pasta Snob is the price. For a box of boring fettucine at Wal-Mart..... 77 cents. Exciting, Beautiful, Handcrafted Pasta...... $4.50 for 1/2 lb. Being a snob is pricey! So sadly, this will probably be my one and only awesome pasta experience.

But seriously.... She is SO CUTE!

The summer heat is taking its toll on the Peej. She has become SO lazy. When I try to take her on walks, she buckles her big bear legs at the end of the driveway and won't budge until I turn around and take her back inside. She basically has been laying on the cold floor all day long, every single day. What a life!

Speaking of being lazy... I am also just basically laying around. All those things I put off "until school is out" has still not been done. I'm pretty sure I've watched at least 200 hours of television. It's like staying home sick, without the sick part. It's awesome.

GASP!

I just went to scrapblog.com to make a new header with the cutest picture of PJ Joey and it is NO LONGER FREE! Am I stuck with this uggo header forever? AGGGHHHHH!
