I have been nothing but a BUM since coming home, but after a week I'm ready to get back into blogging. Here's a look at the International World Changers trip in Ecuador that I helped Coordinate for the International Mission Board. These pics are in a random order, but here goes!
I may have been involved in a dance-off. Regardless, I did not win. The more I look at this picture the scarier it gets.
Oh how precious are these children! I'm posting cute pics of just kids on the
photography blog if you want to ooh and ahhhh over how darn cute Ecuadorian kids are! Ecuadorian adoptions are difficult, fyi. Otherwise, I would probably have about 6 here in Mobile with me now.
I handed my Nikon d60 to a seven year old and asked her to take this picture. Bah ha! She did good though!
Ok- this was my buddy all week. Her name is Avigail, and no I could never pronounce it right. I thought it was like Abigail but with a "v" but it's not. She is SO SMART though and I really loved how she tried to communicate with me even though my Spanish was terriblisio (not spanish).
This looks like ice cream, but it doesn't melt. We found out what it is.... lard with sugar and eggs. SICK!
The lady is one of the fabulous translators and her daughter, along with three of her "gringitos" as she called them. These guys were so much fun and I am heavily recruiting them for Mississippi State.
Our two adult male chaperones. They were very mature....
POOL SMACK! The only game where you get to throw a ball as hard as you can, while inside a volcano pool (minus the water) in hopes of nailing someone in the back.
This was breakfast one morning.... The green part is banana leaves, the brown things are raisins, and the white part tastes like a pancake. It wasn't terrible.
And here's the group, translators and all. How beautiful are the feet of those who bring Good News.

So there we are on "stand-by" waiting in the background on the set. I have no idea what the show is called, and the entire thing was in spanish (espanol!) so we were pretty much just lost the entire time.
This is a shot of the Producer's Booth- it is so tiny compared to mine way back when at KLFY. I guess it's different because from what I can gather, this isn't a news station, they do entertainment? Seriously, I really have no idea! But I had to get a peek at the Producer's booth.... no LIVE shots... must be nice!

For the first segment, they interviewed a spa lady while she was giving someone a STOMACH massage. What? The girl's belly jiggled throughout the massage and it looked like it hurt. No thanks!
This is the next segment- a hip hop group. Starkville Academy's cheerleaders grooved way better I must say. The lone male in the group really got into it- lots of swagger.
Segment #3 was more dancing. They were slightly better than the hip hoppers.
Next up was a lady who sells gift baskets with only breakfast items. Kind of random.
And then last but not least... the Americans! I'm holding a microphone, but don't worry- I didn't say anything in spanish, or really anything at all for that matter. The anchors talked so fast the whole time we had NO IDEA what was going on.
So they were talking and talking and I wasn't picking up any words that sounded like "Vacation Bible School" and then we were told to pick a number between 1 and 12. Kyle yelled out "NINE!" and I bravely translated, "NUEVE!" and then everyone in the studio cheered and I think someone won something? I have no clue! Then the show wrapped and I talked to the producer for a while and he thought I was fabulous for having worked in American television so I left feeling super cocky. All in all, it was weird and really fun.
