Halloween Costumes... a little late....

With only 20 minutes until the Halloween Party and a bevy of terrible ideas for costumes, we finally landed on perhaps the strangest idea yet: Telemundo Soap Opera Stars.

I think we pulled it off.

We did not win any awards, though, and I think it's because people didn't really get it. We did tango dance instead of booty bump AND I kept slapping him in the face while yelling, "Eduardo! Tu es loco!"

Rounding out the evening is our friend Stephen dressed as "Edward Speculum Hands" which is my worst nightmare. He looks pretty awesome though. The speculums were bought off amazon, by the way. Ew. If you don't know what a speculum is, don't ask anyone.

I bet my toilet is cleaner than yours!

That's only because I have spent my day off from school on my hands and knees SCRUBBING every inch of the bathroom. I even scrubbed the floor with one of those wiry things usually reserved for pots and pans. It took two hours and my right arm is sore. I'm such a wimp! Anyway, at least I can live guilt-free about cleaning for a while.... until everything gets dirty again.... sigh. Warning: if you walk into our bathroom right now, please wear a haz-mat suit because the smell of bleach will make your eyelashes fall out it is so strong.

Other than that disgusting note on my domestic non-abilities, I would like to mention is that there are new wedding pics up on the blog. Check it out. It poured down rain right in the middle of their outdoor wedding. My camera got soaking wet... scary!

And finally, the most important thing of all is... IT'S MY DAD'S BIRTHDAY! My Dad is amazing- really, I can't imagine anyone having a better Dad than mine. He is really funny, extremely intelligent, has wise advice, and I have even forgiven him for the early curfews enforced back in the day.
This is not my dad, but this is the first pic that came up when I googled "Richard Hopper."
Bah haahhahahahhhahhah!

Question for all of you that have super cute blog headers...

How do you do that?

I used to use scrapblog and download my design as a jpeg, but now they CHARGE you to do that. No way, Jose.

So I've noticed a lot of you have really cute banners, or headers, or whatever you call it on your blogs. Is there a way to do this for free? I really want to know for the photo blog... I want it to look super awesome. What do I do?

Weekend so far...

Last night we went to Greek Fest at the Greek Orthodox Church downtown. We weren't really sure what to expect so we were really surprised to see that people were flocking by the THOUSANDS to this shin-dig. It was a lot of fun though. We met up with some of our friends there and made a few new friends as well. I particularly enjoyed the food.... duh.

(greek pastries.... yum. I had a gyro and Greek fries. Greek fries are better than regular fries. Not sure why.)
Huge crowd.
Cute little Greek Man playing some cute Greek instrument.

Then, since we were facing such a cold spell (it gone down to 55 degrees, people!), we got some supplies and while I made some rice krispy treats, Caleb lit a fire in our fireplace. We hadn't tried out the fireplace yet. We pulled our couch all the way up to it and it was perfect!
Yay for a relaxing weekend. These are really nice every once in a while.
