Hmmmmm....

So it dawned on me yesterday afternoon that it may be possible that the other teachers think I am a Student Teacher. I always thought it was odd that people are always asking me, "How's it going with Barbosa?" I always give them a confused look and say, "Good, I guess." I'm thinking she's a very nice lady, but why does everyone always ask me that? Anyway, it all became clear yesterday when I asked a teacher I had never met before what the password is for the English Planning Station computer. She told me that Student Teachers don't have access to these computers. I said, "Student Teacher? I'm a Teacher-Teacher, a full-blown teacher-teacher." She then said, "You're not with Barbosa? How old are you?" And then this entire 9-weeks suddenly made sense as I realized everyone has thought I was a college student working with another teacher.

My classroom is a portable room in the back of the school so I never see any other adult pretty much all day, so I guess that's where the confusion has come in. I guess it's a compliment that I look so young, huh! That will come in handy when I'm 80.

Meanwhile. I have realized that I have absolutely nothing exciting to ever blog about. Pretty much everything falls in to the boring categories of: What I eat, work, Caleb is studying a lot, and cute things PJ Joey has done lately. Is this what being an adult has become? Having four boring categories!

I totally understand. Feels like we blog about the same things all the time too.

We also look young, I guess. Five years ago I was managing a book store (I was 25 at the time), and this guy was talking to me about the upcoming 2004 presidential elections. He said, "Oh, wow, are you able to vote?" Ok, moron. I'm 25. I had already voted in the 2000 presidential election. I didn't think I looked that young. Either he was a complete idiot or he was trying to flatter me. Either way, I wasn't impressed. Looking young has come in handy though!

BAhahahaha! That could really work to your advantage. For example:

Bus duty? Nope, sorry, student teacher.

Eating in teacher's lounge when you can eat in silence in your room. Don't mind if I do.

Early morning grade level meeting? Actually, I am a student teacher. We don't attend those.

Our neighbor had a Mexican maid that "didn't" know English. I have learned ever since to never let on how much you really know. You get a whole lot less responsibility that way.

love you so very much!

like I said last night, I think this is hysterical. I went through the happening (high school church retreat) as an adult back in 2006. I was supposed to be placed in the "adult group".
What group was I put in, you ask? Junior in high school. AWESOME.

We will like it when we are 80!!

Had so much fun last night. Next time we will meet earlier for two reasons:
1) We can stay longer without getting run out by the "shed-heads"
2) I won't be so sleepy. It's exhausting growing this baby. I could tell in my body it was almost 9. close to bedtime! ha.

LOVE YOU!

You can make ANYTHING unboring, Trish. I love reading about your so-called 'boring' daily life! It's how I keep up.

Don't you DARE consider exiting the blogging world.
