Before Christmas, my Mom divulged a big fat secret that my parents had in fact secured us tickets to the Gator Bowl. YESSSSSSSSSSS! I got online to book a hotel room, and boom. nothing available except for a cheap motel on the interstate. big yikes. I broadened my search to Beds and Breakfasts and found this little nugget on Amelia Island. It's called The Addison and I would like to live here from now on with the Innkeepers, Shannon and Bob, who I now pretend are my best friends.

Isn't it the most charming place ever? Breakfast the first morning was a blueberry and apricot torte as the STARTER course (yep... it was a multi-course breakfast) then on to potato boats which would take me too long to describe, but they were delish.
I'll stop making you jealous of the B and B, but here are some more sights of Amelia Island:

The town had these on all the lamp posts. Yes, we tried to steal one. You have to unscrew the knobs which doesn't make for a fast get-a-way. It would have been the ultimate souvenir.

The pretty Christmas tree at the end of the historic downtown area.

Caleb wishing he could stare out at the marina for hours, rather than return to real life which has him at work for the next 8 weeks at FIVE in the AM. That means he leaves the house at 4:30am. Gross.

All the trees that line the streets are lighted up. I just love that! Please excuse my hair. I'm attempting to grow my bangs out. I look so bad right now that I may cave.
Next up, I'll post some pics of our horseback excursion on the beach! And cross your fingers that I figure out how to post videos to the blog....Stay Tuned!
