Beach, Birthday, and SBW!

Oh, sweet Spring Break. How I miss thee.

We spent the week with our favorite Mobile family down at Santa Rosa beach and ate too much, played a lot of Super Mario, completely burned my scalp, slept late, and overall just had the best time ever.
At night, we'd go back to the beach and hunt for crabs. That's why my hair looks like it does when I'm on a mission trip. It is windy out there on that beach. The first night, we were merely amateurs in catching the crabs and only caught two.
The next night we got serious and caught a bucketful. In one exciting encounter, a wave came crashing in when we were all looking in the bucket and the bucket tipped over spilling out all the crabs. We ran screaming up onto the beach and I was so scared I was going to have crab pinchers on my legs that I nearly wet my britches.

Here's KR and I inside our spectacular sand hole.
We left the beach for Starkville... Super Bulldog Weekend, my birthday, and my friend's baby shower!
I came home with some pretty great finds from the Arts and Crafts festival that I'm really excited about too.

While I was shopping for arts and crafts, Caleb was judging the BBQ contest. He was one of the blind judges for pork shoulder. My dad was a blind judge for RIBS... lucky! I think it was the best day of Caleb's life. He even wore stretchy pants for his food judging debut.

On to the baby shower. I love my friends.
Sweet Baby Kate has my camera and she took this shot of all of us. Pretty good for a 3-year old! I have taken her on as my apprentice. She is booking weddings for 2016.
And we finished off this fantastic spring break with a SUGARLAND concert! Whoop Whoop!
Caleb's madre drove down and the Butts crew enjoyed a great concert.
Now Spring Break is but a near-distant dream. I returned to school this week knowing there are no more holidays until JUNE 1 which is our last day. It's the latest last school day I've ever had.
But we will make it!
I'm actually starting to like my students now, so 5 weeks doesn't sound terrible.

June 1 is also move in day to our new house. Millions of pics on that to come! But not any of the house from the outside. Caleb is certain that if I blog about where we live then we will undoubtedly be slaughtered in our sleep by an intruder. Better safe than sorry!
