Future Farmers of America and Millionaire

Being a very picky eater as a child, I never thought I would be able to say this but I just found out that Starkville is going to have a Farmers Market this season and I am very excited! Every Saturday this summer, vendors can set up shop on Main St. from 7-11 am and people can cruise through the homegrown produce, which is a great alternative for me- I've been known to burst into tears upon entering the Wal-Mart parking lot (it's just so crowded ALL the time).

If you would like to read the full article, click here.

Meanwhile, I have to mention that my Dad is growing what he calls his Experimental Garden this summer- he's trying out several different vegetables to see what works well in our yard, then he'll know what to focus on for next year. Well. Squash seems to be the winner at the moment. He's growing a variety of veggies, but if all goes well (meaning the goat, Mr. Jingles, doesn't feast on the plants) then he will have grown quite a bit of food. I'm trying to talk him in to the Farmers Market. It think it would be a lot of fun to set up a stand with squash.

I have applied to be a contestant on Wheel of Fortune. No Response.

Caleb applied to be a contestant on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. Bingo.
He received an official e-mail asking him to be at NBC Studios at 5 pm on June 9. He will take a test and if he passes the test (which he WILL) he will have an on-camera audition. SO: cross your fingers that he will be called back for a taped episode and get a chance on the Hot Seat!

Also, if you have an area of expertise and you think you would be good as a Life Line- get back to me. We are strategizing about Life Lines. We have Veterinary Medicine and Computer Technology covered (go Mom and Dad!) but we still need other areas covered.

go Caleb Charles!!!!!! woo-hoo. If you need an English/Literary Arts life-line, I suggest Memer. She knows the first and second pronunciation of EVERY word, and I think she has read every book at Evans Memorial Library in Aberdeen....that is nothing to be sneezed at. Although she literally cannot hear it thunder....might me hard to yell the question and get a response in 30 seconds. I would also like to nominate Travis for all things music...1940's-present.

Anything aviation, I'm your man. Biology and chemistry too, but I figure Caleb can handle those pretty handily.
