Our First Car Purchase!

We weren't even looking to get a new vehicle for another year, but as a time-waster Saturday we test drove this 2002 Montero. Caleb made a ridiculously low offer and I thought they would be like, "Leave and never waste our time again!" but the little dealer man went to talk to his manager. We went back and forth for about 45 minutes until they came within $800 of our first low offer. Inside my body, I was screaming, "Take the deal! Take the deal!" (like on "Deal or No Deal") but Caleb said we really didn't need a vehicle right now anyway, that he would only take it for our original ridiculously low offer.... and we walked out the door, no new car.

Well, yesterday, they called Caleb back all in a panic because they had not sold ANY cars in the past three days and they were ready to go down to the low offer. Crazy, huh? We were half kidding in the first place- it was just a timewaster to begin with. So anyway, we paid in cash (we paid less than half of the sticker price) and drove off the lot with a new car we're really excited about! Saying by to Caleb's old explorer wasn't even that sad:)
