I've been enjoying my job as a Housewife this past week, but really looking forward to employment. In the meantime, I have been watching three hours of Law and Order: SVU everyday so naturally I think a predator is lurking behind every corner. This isn't so good when Caleb is tired and trying to sleep and I'm jumpy and asking him to do another "walk-thru."
Meanwhile, Medical School is in full gear and even I am learning a lot such as the 3 branches of amino acids. Caleb finds all this new medical stuff exciting and I find it disgusting and feign vomiting to get him to stop telling me all about it.
He met his group's cadaver on Tuesday, and leading up to this intimidating event I was helping him come up with good cadaver names to nominate for his group such as Gladys, Zorro, etc. Well, fast-forward into the lab when they uncover the cadaver for the first time. It is an older woman. Caleb asked the group what they wanted to name her, and the other guy in the group, being very serious, said, "I think we should call her 'Grace' as a daily reminder that we are all so blessed to be in Med School."Well who's going to argue with that?
It is such a bad cadaver name in my book, though, because I happen to LOVE the name Grace and could easily see it being used in a double name for a little girl of mine one day. But not anymore, because now I will think of Caleb's cadaver.
So Caleb is busy with Med School these days (he had transcript duty last night and it took about 5-6 hours) and I am so NOT busy, being unemployed and all. I go to a park to jog everyday and there are these crazy-fit people that I call Machines. One of the Machines is a guy that laps me every three minutes on a .75 mile course. I don't know how it's possible. Another Machine is a new mother who runs with her baby in a stroller and LAPS ME! I would fee ashamed, except their Machine-like bodies are almost freakish, because where are their vital organs? They are too lean to be able to fit kidneys, livers, feet of intestines all in there. Plus, they probably have no joy in their lives because they have to give up all sugars and stuff like egg yolks to look like that.I will keep eating dessert!

Tricia....you are so funny!!!! Hope you find employment soon. I too am sad they named the lady Grace...what a great name but how can you argue with the guy's reasoning. haha!!! Hope you are adjusting well to Mobile.
What a funny story! We named ours Lenny (after Denny on Gray's). We was a short, Mexican American with carny tats all over the place! We knew he ran the roller coaster last year at the Mid South Fair.
I am glad you are not a Machine. I enjoy eating cake batter ice cream with you!
love~
