Answer: Only when there is lightning.
Ergo, even if there is a Tropical Storm sitting overhead and dumping over 20 inches of rain with sustained winds of 35 mph, there will still be a football game.
I know this to be true because my TV Production class is now broadcasting every football game to the Internet. It's kind of a big deal. We have sponsors (Special thanks to Chik-fil-A, Adoption Rocks, Coastal Ford, Chill, Uncle Bob's Storage, the Navy, Short Cakes, Compass Urgent Care, and Foosackly's for sponsoring). If you want to see our broadcasts just click here.
Meanwhile, we had thousands of dollars in equipment out in Tropical Storm Lee last night. To say I was soaked through and through doesn't seem to cover it.
Rather than sit at home bored while I'm helping at the games each Friday, Caleb secured a volunteer position as assistant to the Trainer. So we like to call him Team Doctor now. If you watch the Internet broadcast, you can see him going out on the field to check on a hurt player.
Today, Saturday, it has been raining non-stop. It was nice this morning, because there are few things better than waking up to rain and not having to be anywhere. You can just be lazy.
But we can only be lazy for so long.
We have gotten cabin fever. STAT.
This big nose has been in our face constantly all day long. PJ has not enjoyed being stuck inside all day either. Plus, she hates being wet, so I'm pretty sure she hasn't gone outside and tinkled in over 24 hours. I have yet to find an accident though, so I guess we're doing ok.
Caleb did venture to the store to get "hurricane food" which for us today means really good hamburger meat from Fresh Market. Don't judge the amount of honey mustard I have pooled on my plate.
And finally tonight, there is not a THING on TV, which is ironic because this is our first weekend as a married couple to have all the cable channels. We picked up free cable boxes from Comcast, and for the time being, we are getting the full range of cable that they offer.
We know it won't last forever, because they want us to get used to having all the channels so we feel like we "have to have it" when they take it away.
Currently, I'm watching my third episode of "Hoarders" for the day. I'm not enjoying it though. Other shows I've watched today include Death Valley (kind of love this show, but will deny it if asked), Teen Mom, Auburn vs. I've already forgotten, Extreme Couponing, parts of a made-for-TV movie called "Tackling the Past" (it's terrible), and Sweet Home Alabama.
Radar is showing more rain for tomorrow and Labor Day. We may turn into zombies.
